VanArts Digital Photography graduates Reem Abdel-Jabbar and Martina Kopp were recently approached by M.A.C. Cosmetics to shoot body painting work for an international competition. The concept by senior make-up artists Caitlin Callahan & Lyle Reimer was chosen as the only North American representation for the competition.

Reem & Martina’s photography of their work (which was amazing and took about 10 hours of make-up!) helped them win the M.A.C internal competition and they will now go on to represent M.A.C Pro at the World Body Painting Competition in Austria. Their concept was inspired by artist Wangechi Mutu, whose work centers around the African female body and issues African women face in society.
