A Visit from Double Negative Visual Effects

Scroll for more

VanArts recently had a special visit from Double Negative, one of the newest world-reknowned visual effects studios to set up shop in Vancouver. Recruiters Sinead Butler and Hannah Breucker took the time to present to our students in Visual Effects, Game Art & Design and 3D Animation about their studio culture, the projects they are working on and how to apply.

Double Negative has operations in London, Mumbai and Vancouver, and have created award-winning effects for films like Inception, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, Interstellar, and Ex Machina, to name but a few. Most recently they contributed to films such as the new Alice Through the Looking Glass and Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and current productions include the upcoming Star Trek Beyond, Wonder Woman, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and many more.

Their local studio has over 400+ employees, including VanArts graduates Vikas Ganer, Rushabh Punmiya, Melaina Mace, Rajeev Jagasia, Stephen James, and Mike Smith-Kennard, plus our own Nik Brownlee who has worked at their London studio for over 11 years.

We look forward to seeing more VanArts grads join the ranks at DNeg. Thanks again Sinead and Hannah for inspiring our students!
