When Andrew Gordon graduated from VanArts, he had no idea just how far that first step would take him. Fresh-faced and eager to break into the world of animation, Andrew found in VanArts not only a training ground, but a launchpad—a place where his talent was nurtured, his passion refined, and his career ignited.
“I highly recommend VanArts,” Andrew says. “It was the beginning of everything.”
That “everything” would go on to include one of the most legendary careers in modern animation. After graduating, Andrew quickly joined the industry ranks, landing a job at Warner Bros. before being hired by Pixar, where he spent over 20 years animating some of the most beloved characters in cinema history—including none other than Mike Wazowski in Monsters, Inc.
Andrew’s credits at Pixar also include Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Toy Story. But his creative influence hasn’t stopped there. After Pixar, he became Director of Animation at Double Negative, contributing to major productions like Minions 2. His expertise in character performance and storytelling has also made him a sought-after voice in the industry, delivering keynotes and creative workshops for Disney, Coca-Cola, Salesforce, Deloitte, and others.
Today, Andrew continues to push the boundaries of animation at EyeTell Inc., a new frontier in character and AI storytelling co-founded with YouTube’s Chad Hurley. By blending narrative art with cutting-edge technology, Andrew is helping shape the next generation of creative tools and platforms.
