VanArts is excited to announce our Animation & Story Masterclass Fall 2015 tour!

We have a powerhouse line-up of instructors for each stop and are calling all animators, screenwriters, filmmakers and storytellers. Registration is now open!

Andrew Gordon

Andrew Gordon, Directing Animator - Pixar Animation Studios
Tour Stops: London – UK, Seattle, Mexico City

Andrew has been animating characters professionally for over 20 years. He joined Pixar Animation Studios in 1997 where he has animated on A BUG’S LIFE, TOY STORY 2/3, MONSTERS INC, FINDING NEMO, THE INCREDIBLES and RATATOUILLE among many others. The characters he has worked on include Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Gill from Finding Nemo and Edna Mode, the costume designer in The Incredibles. He was Supervising Animator for the Academy-Award nominated short PRESTO, Directing Animator on MONSTERS UNIVERSITY and the recent TV special TOY STORY THAT TIME FORGOT, and currently Director of Promotions working on content for an upcoming Pixar feature film. Andrew was awarded "Outstanding Character Animation in an Animated Motion Picture" by the Visual Effects Society for his work in Finding Nemo.

Ronnie del Carmen

We are really fortunate to have Ronnie joining the Masterclass team this year. Ronnie joined Pixar Animation Studios in the summer of 2000 during the production of FINDING NEMO and became a story supervisor on the film. He did production design on the Academy Award-nominated short film ONE MAN BAND and story work on the Oscar-winning RATATOUILLE. Del Carmen was Head of Story on Disney-Pixar’s Academy Award winning feature UP and is the Co-Director of Disney-Pixar’s INSIDE OUT.

Del Carmen also made his directorial debut with the short film DUG’S SPECIAL MISSION released on the Up DVD and Blu-Ray. In addition to his work on feature and short films he contributed his artistic talents to the illustrating the children's book, My Name is Dug, written by Kiki Thorpe.

Rej Bourdages

Rej has been working professionally in Animation since 1984. His first big animation feature was WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? in 1988. From there Rej worked as an Animator at Walt Disney Feature Animation on such features as BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN, THE LION KING and POCAHONTAS.

Rej’s true passion was in the telling of stories and he soon transitioned into storyboarding at Dreamworks on many of their animated features including SHREK, MADAGASCAR, and THE ROAD TO EL DORADO. He has also been a key player on most of Aardman Animation’s feature films, including CHICKEN RUN and WALLACE & GROMIT: CURSE OF THE WERE RABBIT.

Nate Stanton

Nate Stanton, Story Artist at Pixar Animation Studios, Skellington Productions

Nate Stanton has been in the animation industry for over 22 years, working on feature films, commercials, and video game projects. Pixar Animation Studios has been his home for the last 19 years, providing Storyboarding on multiple films including A BUG’S LIFE, TOY STORY 2, MONSTERS INC, FINDING NEMO, RATATOUILLE, WALL-E, BRAVE, CARS 2, and the theatrical short THE BLUE UMBRELLA.

Prior to Pixar he worked at Skellington Productions on THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH doing 2D Assistant-Animation, and freelance work at Colossal Pictures making a strong learning ground for more 2D animation on a multitude of commercial and TV projects.
