Overview
News, sports, music, talk; there’s nothing about radio you don’t love.
Your journey to getting on-air begins in the Broadcasting for Radio & Television program offered through Columbia Academy broadcasting school at VanArts. You’ll start on-air while you’re studying, by filling some of the 600 available hours of on-air time at the broadcasting school’s campus radio station. Our instructors are well-respected radio veterans with decades of experience in both broadcasting and production, and they’ll share the tricks of the trade.
Your hands-on practice teaches you how to handle yourself on-air, along with important skills like commercial production, copywriting, programming, music direction and promotions. Then, when you graduate from broadcasting school, you’ll be talking like a pro, backed with a diploma plus real-world experience. Radio stations look for career-ready on-air talent, reporters, anchors, traffic and weather personalities and audio production professionals—like you.
