The Visual Effects program at Vanarts is your gateway to the world! The skill sets you will learn allow the students the widest range of job opportunities in digital media arts. We focus equally on 3D (Maya) and 2D (Shake) training.

Job Positions include: FX technical director(TD), compositor, rotoscoper, matchmover, lighting technician (TD), Texturing TD, pre-viz artists, VFX producer and VFX co-ordinator.

Our grads are currently working in London, UK, India, Singapore, Malaysia, United States, and Sweden.

Vanarts is located in the heart of Vancouver, the boomtown of VFX where the job market is exploding! There is a shortage of skilled VFX artists and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. If you are Canadian, there has never been a better time to get into the market. International VFX houses such as the Orphanage, Entity FX, and MPC have opened local branch offices in the past year. And more to follow. Vancouver has a great reputation for skilled and dedicated VFX artists, both senior as well as entry level skill sets.

We shoot in High Definition.

Our method of training focuses entirely on preparing you for working in the VFX field. We run the program like a production house, ensuring the grad is fully prepared for the expectations of the industry. The students will work on a group project as their demo reel, taking an idea, fully developing it from concept to final output. We shoot with professional High Definition (HD) cameras and liaison with the film industry to produce a high quality product.
