This series of intensive weekend courses is designed to introduce the fundamental concepts of video for DSLR photographers. Through classroom discussions, visual examples and hands-on workshops we discuss how to add DSLR video to a photographer's repertoire.

Each weekend session focuses on one of three essential aspects of video production and can be taken individually or as a full packaged series

Video Recording for DSLR Photographers (May 4-5, 2013)
Learn the basics of pre-production, cinematography, lighting, stabilization and motion while capturing footage for a short video project, and then finish the project off using the fundamentals of video editing software.

Sound Recording for DSLR Photographers (May 18-19, 2013)
Learn how to capture and edit sound using various external microphones and recording gear to give your videos the professional sound they deserve, and learn the basics of post-production audio editing and mixing.

Day 2:  Editing and Mixing Audio & Video

Video Editing for DSLR Photographers (June 1-2, 2013)
Dive head-first into non-linear video editing to put the polish on your digital video projects. Learn editing concepts and get introduced to video transitions, effects, titles and simple motion graphics.
Day 1:  Non-Linear Video Editing
Day 2:  Effects and Video Manipulation

At the end of this course you will have more confidence in using your camera and equipment, an understanding of basic video production principles, increased skill in manipulating creative tools and a renewed excitement for what DSLR cameras have to offer. Video-capable digital SLR camera with at least 1 lens
Memory Card

Pre-requisites: Digital Photography 101 or equivalent fundamental understanding of digital photography

Duration: Each session is 2 days, Saturday / Sunday from 10am to 5pm
