Broadcasting Grads Launch Careers in Radio
The Broadcasting Department of Columbia Academy at VanArts is proud to celebrate the achievements of our graduates who have recently begun their new careers in professional radio after their studies.

Rhyean Hylands shares with us, "Right before graduating from Columbia Academy at VanArts, I was lucky enough to get a job with the mighty Corus Entertainment. My job right now includes doing promotional events for CFOX, Classic Rock 101 and CKNW, doing on-air traffic reports for AM730 and running board operations for DJ’s who are live on location. Being behind the board and in front of a mic would have been a lot more overwhelming had I not been doing it every day for the last 10 months with Columbia Academy at VanArts, and I’m so grateful for the training I received while I was there. The daily feedback our instructors provide is a part of making sure you become the best broadcaster you can be, the daily lectures give you an understanding about how a radio station works behind the scenes, and the on-air time is the most fun you’ll ever have! Thank you to Columbia Academy at VanArts – best life decision I’ve made yet!"
Ryan Henderson also shares with us, "Thanks to the great Broadcasting program at Columbia Academy at VanArts, I was able to get an internship with TEAM 1040/ 1410 and am now working for them. All of the equipment and editing work I'm doing now is very much how I was trained while in school."
Congratulations and best wishes to all of our Broadcasting grads, and we look forward to seeing how your careers continue to rock the airwaves.
