about

Chilton Crane - Head of Acting for Film & Television
Chilton has been a professional actor for over 20 years, with many lead, recurring and guest star credits including X-Files, Supernatural, Outer Limits, L Word, Cold Squad, Beggars and Choosers, and many other series and feature films.  She has directed for both film and stage, is very passionate about acting and teaching, and has always been lucky enough to find a balance of both crafts.  Chilton has the longest-running film & television part-time course in the city and yet still brings all of her energy to each and every class.  With an unsurpassed dedication to her students and their development, she believes in empowering each student with knowledge so they can go out into the world independently and with confidence to pursue their dreams.  According to Chilton herself, "There are no quick fixes or secrets in the art of acting; just a lot of hard work, commitment, self-discipline, and oh yeah, a hell of a lot of fun." Testimonials

"I learned so much from my year at the William Davis Centre. The teachers are incredibly passionate about what they teach, and are dedicated to the success of their students. It was invaluable to have been taught by working actors, whose teaching was as much based in their own training as it was in their own experiences. I've already signed up for another class!"

Katherine Coupland, Class of 2007

“The William Davis Centre is where I developed my love for acting. Before attending, I’d only really thought of acting in passing. Truthfully, I didn’t even know what I wanted to do. But, after taking the intro program there I was so hooked that I immediately auditioned for and was accepted into the full-time program. The school ignited my ability to innovate and create and infused me with an intense passion and respect for our craft. I walked out of the program with the confidence, determination and knowledge required to turn acting into a serious career. I view it as one of the most pivotal moments in my life and I continue to go back to push the boundaries of my work. It is with great pride that I can say I am a graduate of the WDC. Without a doubt, William Davis Centre is the reason that I’m an Actor.”

Giles Panton, Class of 2005

"I would not be where I am today without the exceptional education and guidance I received from the William Davis Centre. It is a place that is more than a learning centre. It is a community of talented actors and teachers who create an atmosphere that is challenging yet familiar. Whether you are looking for a place to start or somewhere to continue to hone your skills I would unreservedly recommend the William Davis Centre.."

Aaron Douglas - Actor

"Providence brought me to the William Davis Centre and I'll thank God to my dying day for it. Bill, Garry and Trish helped me to unlock my talent and develop a strong work ethic. I use what I learned there every scene, every day. Some days I swear I can fly."
