Chilton Crane - Head of Acting for Film & Television
Chilton has been a professional actor for over 20 years, with many lead, recurring and guest star credits including X-Files, Supernatural, Outer Limits, L Word, Cold Squad, Beggars and Choosers, and many other series and feature films.  She has directed for both film and stage, is very passionate about acting and teaching, and has always been lucky enough to find a balance of both crafts.  Chilton has the longest-running film & television part-time course in the city and yet still brings all of her energy to each and every class.  With an unsurpassed dedication to her students and their development, she believes in empowering each student with knowledge so they can go out into the world independently and with confidence to pursue their dreams.  According to Chilton herself, "There are no quick fixes or secrets in the art of acting; just a lot of hard work, commitment, self-discipline, and oh yeah, a hell of a lot of fun." Your work is showcased for the first time, allowing you to test your creations with an audience. The rehearsal project teaches you the skills to prepare a full length script in an ensemble environment. In the Shakespeare class, you learn to work with difficult dialogue and epic stories. You learn to prepare audition monologues and explore voice-over work with the Animation departments in Voice and Speech. Physical skills /like stage combat and bouffon are introduced in Physical Training. The second short-film project is shot on a sound stage. You will learn to work with all crew members in a hectic and rewarding simulation of “the real world”. The Performance Project teaches you to take your /live performance into a professional theatre. Your project is chosen for your class, and is performed at a local independent theatre. This is your opportunity to show Vancouver audiences, your friends, family and invited industry professionals what you can do.

You then move into an intense exploration of audition technique, guided by specia/lists who have worked across North America.
