Intro to Digital Concept Art

This course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of digital concept art, which is the primary form of design for video games, feature films, and computer animation. This course covers current design techniques for characters, machines, environments, and creatures. No previous computer skills needed to complete this course.

About the Instructor: Tom Zuber
Tom Zuber has over 25 years of professional experience in the animation, film & games industry as a production artist, director, teacher and mentor. His local experience includes working as an animator at Electronic Arts Canada and Delaney & Friends, FX & concept artist atSextant Entertainment, senior artist at Backbone Entertainment, principal artist at Relic Entertainment, and art director at Magellan Interactive, GO2 and Locksmith Productions. Tom also served as a lead artist at Blue Tongue (THQ) in Melbourne, Australia and a 3D manager/course leader at Media Design School in Auckland, New Zealand. Over the years he has lent his teaching skills to various schools including VFS, Art Institute, Capilano University, and VanArts.
Supplies needed for this course: WACOM tablet (any size)
Prerequisites: basic traditional drawing and painting skills
