Nick Fabin B.A.
Henson Tan is currently teaching our MEL scripting class. Henson has worked in games and animated film for 7 years at Mainframe Entertainment and EA Games. He has designed and built environments for hit games such as Fifa, SSX3, NBA Street, Sled Storm & Fifa Street. Previously, at Mainframe, he animated, lit and rendered shot sequences for Heavy Gear and Max Steel. He received his technical training at Simon Fraser University(Comp Sci) and BCIT.
Joe Crawford is an experienced teacher, computer animator and special fx artist. Having over 18 years experience in 3D software packages, he is our head maya technician at the school. Previously, Joe worked at Mainframe Entertainment where he produced animation and special effects for several television series including Reboot, Beast Machines and Action Man. Currently, he owns his own company which produces educational media and offers technical support.
Stephen studied animation at Capilano College, and has worked as an animator and concept artist in several Vancouver studios, including AKA Cartoon, Bardel/Dreamworks, Mainframe, Digital

January 20th, 2009Nick Fabin, a character and sculpture instructor with the Game Art and Design Program, has his models featured with Offload Studios. Offload is famous for rendering 3D computer models into real objects with high tech model generation equipment that both builds and texture paints your 3D objects. Propaganda Games (Disney Interactive) joins VanArts Internship Program
October 14th, 2008VanArts would like to welcome Propaganda Games, makers of the successful jungle survival game, Turok, to our internship program. Turok is a cutting edge title that uses the Unreal Engine 3 for development. Propaganda is a solid Vancouver games company, which is part of Disney Interactive Studios. The company has confirmed that they will review internship demo reels from VanArts annually starting 2009. We are excited to explore this new partnership and get our best talent out to pitch in at Propaganda Games.
More Games Companies Sign onto VanArts Internship Program

Blue Castle Games has signed onto VanArts' Game Art and Design internship program. Again, offering students more job opportunities in video games right out of school.
"The intern program sounds great. I think it would be awesome if we (Blue Castle Games) could have access to some great art interns," says Robyn Wallace, Senior Project Manager at Blue Castle.

July 8th, 2008Vanarts, Game Art and Design Instructor, Pierre Bougeot, has recently been featured on CG Channel as being one of the stand out Character Artists in the industry today. EA Art Director Robin Kort Becomes Game Art & Design Department Head

VanArts is excited to announce Robin Kort as our new Department Head for our Game Art & Design Diploma Program, having taught Art Foundations with us since 2001. Robin Kort received her education in computer animation and foundation arts from Vancouver Film School and Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.
